Biography

Rosendy Desir began as a doctoral student in the Accounting and Information Systems (ACIS) program at Virginia Tech in Fall 2026. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Miami and a Master of Accounting from Florida Atlantic University. His interdisciplinary academic background has shaped his research interests by combining economics, accounting, and technology to better understand how organizations and individuals make financial reporting decisions in an increasingly data-driven environment. His research interests lie at the intersection of financial reporting, behavioral accounting, audit archival research, and emerging technologies.

Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, Rosendy built a diverse professional background in both audit and taxation. He began his career at Moss Adams LLP, where he worked as an auditor before transitioning into tax. Later, he joined AMG National Trust as a Tax Accountant, gaining experience advising clients on complex tax matters while developing a broader perspective on financial reporting and business decision-making.

Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Rosendy enjoys playing electric guitar, exploring new trading card/board games, enjoying life and cooking with his wife and their two dogs. He values lifelong learning, meaningful mentorship, and expanding the accounting literature through intellectual curiosity and high-quality research.
