Biography
Francis Ding joined the Ph.D. program in the ACIS department in the Fall of 2021. He earned his M.S. in Accounting and Business Analytics from the University of Pittsburgh in 2021.
Francis’ research interests include financial accounting topics such as credit ratings and capital structures. He is also interested in corporate governance, with a focus on how board composition impacts firm outcomes.
During his time at Virginia Tech, Francis has taught Introduction to Managerial Accounting and Accounting Information Systems. He fosters students' interest in accounting by incorporating real case studies into his classroom instruction and introducing the latest accounting debates to his students.
