Biography

Yusif Al-Yemeni is a doctoral student in the Accounting and Information Systems (ACIS) program at Virginia Tech. He's a licensed CPA and CISA with a passion for leveraging his industry experience and data analytics skills to enhance audit quality.

Prior to his doctoral studies, Yusif worked in public accounting at firms including PwC and Blackman and Sloop, CPAs, P.A., where he focused on auditing, data analytics, and technology adoption. In these roles, he designed and delivered training courses on audit foundations, piloted AI integration and adoption programs, and mentored associates on effective review skills.

Yusif holds a Master of Accounting from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University. His research interests focus on leveraging resources like AI, automation, and strategic labor allocation to attract new accountants, manage audit quality, create efficiency through synergies, and improve CPA quality of life and retention. He is committed to furthering the accounting profession through research and mentorship.

Outside of his professional life, Yusif dedicates time to mentoring students and new professionals. In his personal time, he tries to be the best husband and father possible.
