Biography

Jason Sharp joined the Pamplin College of Business in the Fall of 2016.  Jason obtained both his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Masters of Science in Professional Accounting from Michigan State University.  He holds professional licenses as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).  As a student at Michigan State University, he was a teaching assistant and a graduate assistant in the Introductory Managerial Accounting course.

After graduating, Jason went to work for a regional public accounting firm named Plante Moran in Southfield, MI.  While at Plante Moran he was an external auditor focusing on clients in both the manufacturing and governmental sectors.  He left Plante Moran in 2008 to pursue a career as an educator.  Jason worked for Ferrum College from 2008-2016, where he taught many different accounting courses such as Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Governmental Accounting, and Auditing.

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his two kids, trail running, and working out.
