Biography

Sabrina Summers joined the PhD program in the Accounting and Information Systems Department in the Fall of 2021. She received her B.S. in Accounting and Economics from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, graduating with Honors in Economics. Prior to joining the PhD program, Sabrina worked as an audit manager in KPMG’s Washington, D.C., office specializing in audits of cabinet-level Federal agencies and wholly-owned government corporations.  

Sabrina’s research interests include audit, risk oversight, and accounting labor markets. At Virginia Tech, Sabrina has taught Introduction to Managerial Accounting and Accounting Information Systems. She aims to bring her professional and research experience into the classroom to inspire and develop the next generation of accountants.

Sabrina is a licensed CPA in the District of Columbia.
