Biography

Cecilia joined the Ph.D. program in the Accounting and Information Systems Department at Virginia Tech in Fall 2023. She received her B.S. in Accounting with Honors from the University of Connecticut in 2020 and her M.S. in Management Science from Cornell University in 2021.

Ceci’s research lies at the intersection of corporate disclosure, information intermediaries, and sustainability. She is particularly interested in how emerging reporting practices shape capital markets and how market participants interpret and respond to those signals. She aims to produce timely research that contributes to academic dialogue and informs policy and investor decision-making.

In the classroom, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge with her students. At Virginia Tech, she has taught Introduction to Managerial Accounting in Fall 2023 and Spring 2026.
