The MACIS Program is open to students with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Entering students who have not already done so must complete the prerequisite courses listed in the respective Plans of Study. To earn a Master’s degree, successful completion of 30 semester hours after all prerequisite courses have been fulfilled is required.

Application Requirements:

- All applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with an undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Students with a GPA below 3.0, but not lower than 2.75, and who have other experience or qualifications that demonstrate potential to undertake graduate studies, will be considered for provisional admission into our MACIS Program (does not apply to 152-Hour students).
- Applicants may submit a scanned copy of his/her transcript(s) with their application. However, an official copy must be sent to the Graduate School once admission has been offered.

- If international students meet all of the admission requirements, except the minimum language test scores, we encourage applying for admission into the Virginia Tech Language and Culture Institute's AdvantageVT-Master's Program. Our ACIS department is a participant in the Program, which is designed to improve English proficiency prior to beginning coursework relevant to the master's degree in ACIS.
- If international students meet all of the admission requirements, except the minimum language test scores, we encourage applying for admission into the Virginia Tech Language and Culture Institute's AdvantageVT-Master's Program.
